Diabolus Review: Wicked
A paean to all the Wicked Queens, Evil Stepmothers, and other misunderstood villainesses throughout history and lore. Lends an aura of majesty, refinement, strength, and a deep, brooding malice. A sophisticated, womanly scent: rich myrrh and jasmine draped in the subtlest rose.
Acquired: imp from brigid @ lj
In the Bottle: Sharp, spicey jasmine. Don't really smell any rose.
Wet: Powdery jasmine. Reminds me of something I've smelled before, but I can't quite place it.
Drying: The jasmine is a bit heavier than I'd like and I still don't smell any rose.
Dry: Choking on the heaviness of this scent. There's definitely myrrh now with the jasmine. It smells like an old wood box. One that you put antiques and heirlooms in. That spicey old rose smell. Yeah, I get the rose now, but it's definitely old rose and not fresh rose.
Fade: The scent is still pretty strong an hour later. The jasmine has faded away and it's still that old rose scent. I do like how it's faded, but the scent is a bit too mature for me, I think.
Verdict: It's definitely a bit too "old lady" for me and I'll be putting this back in the swap box.
