Funereal Oil Review: Danse Macabre
An allegorical expression of the ineffable, indisputable triumph of death, generally expressed in medieval artwork as a violin or flute-wielding skeleton leading a procession of dancers to their graves. Black cypress with oakmoss, frankincense, oude, and a sliver of toasted hazelnut.
Acquired: frimp from brigid @ lj
In the Bottle: Can smell the cypress and spicy frankincense right away.
Wet: Cypress is still the strongest note, a bit of the hazelnut peeking through the frankincense, which isn't as strong on my skin as it was in the bottle.
Drying: The cypress is fading pretty quickly, leaving a warm, spicy scent. It's definitely turning powdery.
Dry: It smells... a bit nutty and foody I guess. A touch sweet. Not a bad scent, but I don't really like it much on me.
Fade: Quick fade; about an hour.
Verdict: Reminds me of a car air freshener. Not so much a scent I'd want to smell like. Going in the swap box.
